Fr. Binoy Karimaruthinkal (Binoyachan) is the only son of Karimaruthinkal Kuruvila and Mariam, of the Tritvamala Parish of the Diocese of Palghat. He also has an elder sister. Through his parents, at an early age, the Holy Spirit laid the foundation for a spiritual life rich in prayer, selfless love, and honesty. When Fr. Xavier Khan went to the Tritvamala Parish, he met Fr. Binoy as a child, whom he realized had a deep spirituality and love of God, and from there, their spiritual relationship began.

After his higher studies at St. Thomas College, Thrissur, Fr. Binoy’s parents allowed him to enter the seminary. The Holy Spirit gave him the strength to renounce everything boldly for Jesus and the Church.  After he entered the seminary, he preached the gospel for the salvation of souls. By the grace of God, he came to the Sehion Retreat Center to do regency with Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil.

His heart ached at the downfall of the priests and the consecrated persons. Since his ordination on 28 December 2006, he has been a strong advocate for the renewal of the priests and the religious.  The Lord has anointed him to do the ministry of world evangelization using the gifts and charisms of the Holy Spirit. As a newly ordained priest, he again came to Sehion Retreat Center and worked with Rev. Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil. This time spent together helped them to delve further into the depths of their inner call. Even as a young priest, he worked hard to make the Word of the Lord known to all.

The Almighty God has blessed him with the grace to touch hearts with a life bound by the Word of God, a heart that delights in obedience, a life of ministry that finds strength in celibacy, a life that trusts only on Divine providence and the spirit of poverty.
